  • i have no doubt he will sign it, unfortunately. the bill passed the house 409-2; that's how uncontroversial it is. no congressman wants to be seen as weak on security. well, maybe two do.

    some democrats did complain about the internet provision being tacked on, but that will not be enough to block this bill. bush could sign it as early as tomorrow (weds).

    Haha, yeah, I was thinking of that line too. Actually, in that South Park episode I mentioned, Principal Victoria appoints Cartman (who actually thought was in trouble) as hallway monitor. She said, "If you see any student in the hall without a hall pass, you have the authority to bring them to me." Of course, a very surprised Cartman responds, "Authori-tae?" : P
