If someone tells you that “it is clear that X is true” or “it is obvious that X is true,” it usually means they cannot prove that X is true.

The key, I think, to the strip is its use of anticlimax. I’m so accustomed to stories having a beginning, middle, and end that I’m caught up short when a story ends without resolution. To me, it is genius.
